![]() That said, after visiting The Living Arts Centre this past weekend to see a performance for the first time, I was seriously wowed! I’ve been inside the theatre by day before and it really doesn’t do it any justice, by night fall the true beauty of the centre really shines through. Each has it’s own beauty and it’s own benefits and notable features, so it’s hard to compare one against the other. Samira Zia, a 28 year old Mississauga native, coordinates the Marketing & Publicity initiatives for the LAC and also serves as the Social Media Strategist.ĭuring my tenure as a Unilocaler, I’ve had the pleasure of taking in performance arts at each of the various theaters in Peel and York Region. We’ve had the pleasure of hosting performances by legendary acts such as Julio Iglesias, Jann Arden, Chantal Kreviazuk, Ron James, The Wailers and many more. ![]() Since then, more than 5 million people have come to Living Arts Centre, exploring all the Centre has to offer. The Living Arts Centre opened its doors on October 7, 1997, adding an exciting cultural dimension to Mississauga‘s City Centre. The meeting and conference rooms are utilized by community organizations and businesses for a variety of events, from church services, to luncheon meetings, to international video conference business meetings. Laidlaw Hall features constantly changing art exhibitions. The Centre’s seven craft/arts studios are the home of professional Resident Artists and also feature dozens of recreational classes for all ages. The two main performing arts venues - Hammerson Hall and The RBC Theatre - are the site for a range of arts, cultural and entertainment events presented by both the Living Arts Centre and community partners. Serving as an important resource for the arts, education and business, Living Arts Centre features over 225,000 square feet of multiple performance venues, studio spaces and exhibition display areas. ![]() From performances of local, national and international artists and entertainers, to business and conference events, to intriguing art exhibits and community classes in a variety of arts and crafts, the Living Arts Centre is a destination for people from all walks of life.
